Not always. In women over 45 with typical menopause symptoms, diagnosis is often clinical and FSH testing is optional. Hormone levels fluctuate in perimenopause and a single estradiol/FSH pair rarely decides treatment. Testing is more useful for atypical presentations, premature menopause concerns, or to exclude other conditions (thyroid, anemia, pregnancy when relevant). HormoneFit orders labs when they change decisions — not by default for every patient.
