What should I prepare for my first menopause visit?

Medically reviewed by Dr. Nathan Roth, MDCM, FRCSC, FACOG · Updated 2026-11-01

What should I prepare for my first menopause visit?

Bring a symptom list (flashes, sleep, mood, bleeding, GSM), menstrual history, medications/supplements, prior hormone or cancer history, recent labs if available, and your top three goals. Note migraine aura, clots, smoking, and family breast/ovarian cancer history. Completing HormoneFit intake before video helps your clinician prepare. Educational visits still end in shared decisions — not one-size protocols.

  • Goals beat vague “fix my hormones” requests
  • Cancer and clot history change options
  • List all supplements — some interact with care
  • Bleeding calendar helps if cycles are chaotic

Optional but helpful

Prior operative reports, oncology letters, bone density results, and blood pressure readings from home.
