Are there natural alternatives for menopause symptoms?

Medically reviewed by Dr. Nathan Roth, MDCM, FRCSC, FACOG · Updated 2026-11-01

Are there natural or alternative treatments for menopause symptoms?

Some non-drug approaches have evidence: CBT for hot flashes/insomnia, paced breathing, exercise, weight management, and treating sleep apnea when present. Phytoestrogens and many herbal supplements show mixed or weak evidence and can interact with medications. “Natural” is not automatically safer. HormoneFit supports lifestyle foundations and evidence-based non-hormonal prescriptions when HRT is declined — without selling unproven compound blends.

  • CBT and exercise have credible support
  • Black cohosh and soy results are inconsistent
  • Supplements are still biologically active
  • Severe flashes often need medical therapy

A sensible stack

Sleep, strength training, alcohol moderation, and CBT skills first. Add prescription non-hormonal agents or HRT based on severity — not Instagram protocols.
